David (Bobby Soto) y Creeper (Shia LaBeouf) son «cobradores del impuestos» para el líder criminal Wizard y se encargan de llevarse una parte de los beneficios que generan las actividades ilícitas de las pandillas locales. Pero cuando un viejo rival de Wizard regresa a Los Ángeles procedente de México, el negocio da un giro completo y David se verá en una situación desesperada para proteger lo que le importa por encima de cualquier otra cosa: su familia.
